Bluebay Beach Resort and Spa Zanzibar is located on the beautiful, white sandy beach of Kiwengwa on the East Coast of the island of Zanzibar. Bluebay Beach Resort is only 40 minutes drive from the town and the airport on a recently built road. Bluebay Beach Resort occupies a 25 acre site with more than 1000 indigenous palm trees. The bedroom cottages are located on rising ground which overlook verdant tropical gardens, the sparkling white beach, the azure Indian Ocean and its coral reef which offers particularly warm and safe bathing. 
A good hotel located on a paradise beach with view across the azure blue sea, if a resort hotel is your thing then the Bluebay will be ideal. The rooms and grounds are excellent, the buffet nights very good Bluebay is situated on one of the finest beaches in the world. Rooms were large, clean and well maintained. Food was excellent, the italian chef looked after us well. The staff as well as management were all ways friendly and willing. Even the GM was visible and talked and greeted most guests. 
Food is excellent - different menu every evening with tasty dishes such as slipper lobster, cocunut & seafood soup etc. The exec chef is Italian and his influence shows especially at lunch with yummy pizza and pasta. Honeymooners get a beautiful arch over their doorways. Altho not honeymooners, we were there for valentines and had a special dinner on the beach - they made so much effort, even our names were printed on the menus!!
The sea is great fun - when there is a full moon, the waves are brilliant fun! After that it is sedate and in the day you can wade out to the reef or take a dhow with the locals and snorkel. (Take sea shoes). Evening entertainment is a band, sometimes masai and acrobats. It is hard work laying in the sun so most people slope off after dinner ;) Check rates and availability of this hotel here
I would recommend Bluebay Beach Resort and Spa Zanzibar any day and has overtaken a few of my favourites in similar countries! There are lots of trips you can organise with rep/hotel if you do get bored of staring at the turquoise sea, sipping sugar cane juice. There is a water sports and PADI dive/snorkeling centre attached too.
