Dik Dik Hotel Arusha

Travel Business

SBI!

The Dik Dik Hotel Arusha is very conveniently located between the international airport and Arusha, and is far enough off the road to be lovely and quiet.

The rooms are large, clean and most importantly, everything works perfectly, the grounds are lovely, with a small but deep swimming pool, and the chef serves amazingly good food. It is very nice to stay in a place where it is not over priced or badly run, so thanks to everyone there.

We arrived just before lunch and had a warm welcome, were given a cold tea, and shown to our room; which had a fine terrace and a hammock to rest in.

The room is a decent size, clean, with a clean bathroom and walk in shower (nice and powerful), with toiletries provided. We spent the afternoon relaxing by the pool and had lunch of sandwiches and chips.

We ate in the restaurant in the evening, were served bread and butter, a spinach appetiser, followed by a delicious veggie gratin for me and a pork dish.

The owner introduced himself to use during our meal, which was a nice touch. Breakfast was good, bread, cheese, ham, cereal, and Spanish omlette.

Would recommend this hotel an as overnight stopover on the way to safari, if you just want to relax for an afternoon/evening. Any longer and I would recommend staying a bit closer to Arusha.

Dik Dik Hotel is run and owned by Swiss people and is about 25 minutes drive outside Arusha town. There are 20 acres of lush tropical gardens that compliment the forested environs and attract prolific wildlife.

The hotel takes its name from one of the smallest gazelles in Africa, which live on the nearby mountain slopes.

The hotel professional staff offer high standard services to the guests as this is one of the major hotels in Arusha. The fresh fruits and vegetables served to the guests is from their own maintained greenhouses.

There is a total of nine bungalows that are well equipped with modern comforts such as en suite bathroom, hair driers, minibar, mosquito nets and a personal verandah with hammock.

The pool offers a great place for relaxation after safari, while just next to the pool is a bar for one to get refreshments especially a collection of South African wines.

Elegant cuisine is served at the restaurant prepared by professional chefs from the produce of the gardens.
