Elephant Pepper Camp Maasai Mara

We arrived at Elephant Pepper Camp Maasai Mara and were met at the airstrip by one of the camp staff who immediately served us two soft drinks (which was appreciated after two safari link flights) and then we took a leisurely drive to the camp taking a few detours to find some Giraffes and hyenas.

On arrival at the camp we were driven around to the front of the camp (not where you usually set off from which is at the back) and were met by the manager and staff with some ice cold juices and cold towls- after a little chat we were brought to out which was amazing.

I thought we would struggle with no running water and electricity but we were more comfortable here and had better service than many 5* hotels we have stayed in.

Lighting in the tents are via low power Led lights charged from a small solar panel, and water is constantly available in the tent for washing with hot water delivered with your wake up call and in your tent when you return from your game drives and bucket showers are available when ever you want (although one a day is more than adequate)

The food at Elephant Pepper Camp Maasai Mara was amazing with dinner served on a large table where everyone mingles with a pre dinner drink served around the camp fire.

The cheese source is particularly good and you will know when it is served when the cook gets on the radio and orders all the guides to have the guests back on time so it doesnt spoil.

Other highlights where the guided bush walk, sundowners with the most amazing views, breakfast along the river looking at Hippos and the animals we saw - amazing .

On our last morning they set up a little table just for us at the front of the camp - a lovely way to say goodbye

This is a really special camp. with amazing staff - and we will definitely go back

Elephant Pepper Camp Maasai Mara, which was formerly called Mara Camp is a step back in time. It is a true bush camp with all the comforts and none of the stress of the modern world.

Here you sleep under canvas, out in the open with the night sounds of the game and the fresh scent of the earth, grass and bush around you.

This is an original, eco-friendly safari camp, committed to finding a way of life that does not harm the wilderness.

Elephant Pepper Camp Maasai Mara goes up for the season then it is packed away to allow the grass and bush to revitalize, leaving no trace of our presence. Arriving at camp is like coming home.

Here you relax with no vehicles, electricity or noisy generators, no permanent structures, just the open plains stretching before you.

Your tent is roomy and welcoming with comfortable twin or double beds, an adjoining dressing area, a safari 'bucket' shower filled with hot water.
