Fumba Beach Lodge Zanzibar
A home away from home - that’s about the best way to explain my experience at Fumba Beach Lodge Zanzibar. Walking around all the beautiful maintained grounds or on the beaches and reefs Fumba feels so open and spacious (and very well looked after)... An amazing place to start off your honeymoon and set very high expectations for your trip! The drive to Fumba from the Airport is a long bumpy one, but as soon as we arrived we started to feel at ease. 
The room was a highlight - right by the beach, huge double doors that opened out towards the beach, lovely furniture, huge bed with a nice mosquito net setup, lovely bathroom with powerful shower and a bookshelf of books to read. Two nights we had dinner on the beach which was very romantic and peaceful. The food itself was mostly quite good (beautifully presented, though) The beach is a lovely white sandy beach, and at high tide you could descend some steps from the bar right into the water. Not a lot of people on the beach or swimming in the sea, though. 
The pool is a nice infinity pool looking out to sea. Really nice to watch the dhows pass by. Excellent (not pushy) pool service. Staff always friendly and chatty. Fumba Beach Lodge Zanzibar has a spa and diving centre, but we were happy to just chill out and didn't use either. We also never got in to Stone Town. We were privilege to experience the warm waters and white beaches of Zanzibar. We stayded at Fumba Beach Lodge.
What an experience !!! We enjoyed warm hospitality and friendly service from the moment we arrived till we left. Nothing seems too much. It is a real paradise where one can relax and enjoy nature. A real "Hakuna Matata " feeling. The Blue Water dive centre stationed at the lodge offers a profesional and outstanding service. Snorkeling at Ukombe reef - a must. Do not miss out on a visit to the SPA. The massages are excellent. Fumba Beach Lodge is located in the southwest of Zanzibar island, situated about 30 minutes drive from Zanzibar 's international airport in Stone Town. In the open air restaurant you can enjoy the exquisitely prepared fresh seafood along with a tantalizing array of international and local dishes.
