Hemingways Resort Malindi

This is a superb hotel for a relaxing break, with superb food and exceptionally friendly service from all departments. We stayed in a junior suite which was split level and extreemly comfortable. If you do consider this option just check that it has a balcony. Dinner each night was outside with varied entertainment on several evenings.

It will take time to believe that Hemingways Resort Malindi is the best place to relax while in Malindi Kenya. What a beautiful hotel in a beautiful location! Idyllic, lush green gardens with thatched cottages leading down to a warm, coral-dotted, turquoise sea..

The pool bar has a good lunch menu, with extremely well prepared dishes for those who enjoy lunch. The hotel sits on a great bech and to our relief we had no hassle whatsoever. The hotels seem to work well with the local vendors, who have a number of' 'cooperative' style stalls, so great credit to the vendors.

The pools and sitting area are extremely comfortable and staff at all times most attentive and go out of their way to help. The beach of course is beautiful, the swimming at high tide perfect and the snorkeling, beautifully arranged by the hotel, excellent. One can understand why the Kenya Tourist Board have awarded this resort 5 stars because of its Big Game fishing facilities

Take an idyllic location and add a plethora of staff whose one aim in life is to ensure that you’re enjoying yourself and you’ve got the measure of Hemingways.

From the utterly charming manager, Garry Cullen, to any of the many chambermaids and garden staff and all the under-managers, waiters and boat attendants in between, you’ll find a smiling welcome and an answer to any query or request.

If you just want a totally relaxing beach holiday, the place is brilliant.. The pool is vast and well kept and there are always enough sun loungers to go around. If you snorkel or dive, you’ll find the waters clear and buoyant. All the equipment you need is available and the staffs at the dive centre next door are all PADI qualified and highly safety conscious. If you’re snorkelling, expect a boat driver and probably two lookouts to check you’re ok.
