The university is owned by a board of trustees, chaired by Higenyi. Location The university is located on a 175-acreage land in Kawolo sub-county, about 42km on the Kampala-Jinja Highway. Lugazi was transformed from a secondary school into a university Legal status Lugazi University operates legally under a licence from the National Council for Higher Education. Programmes offered There are 20 programmes in arts and social science department and eight in the department of science and information technology. There are also 19 diploma schemes and nine certificate courses. The undergraduate courses last a minimun of three years. Academic facilities A total of 120 computers connected to the Internet are in use. The university has only one library, stocked with at least 4,200 books.
