"Just click here to start your story, comment or criticism about this university or any other higher institution of learning you’ve ever visited in Uganda. ________________________________________________ MBI is located in Makerere West, along Sir Apollo Kaggwa Road, approximately 3km from the city centre, before Bwaise suburb. Legal status MBI is licensed by the Ministry of Education and Sports. It is the only private tertiary institution with a certificate of classification and registration issued by the National Council for Higher Education. This means its programmes and awards are equivalent in merit to those of other public tertiary institutions. Objectives. • To supplement the government’s efforts in mobilising human resources for economic development. • To increase business training opportunities. • To impart practical business skills to our students in a bid to produce job creators. • To produce graduates of the highest academic standing and caliber. Academic programmes MBI offers diplomas and Certificates in: • Business Studies (general studies) • Business Administration. • Secretarial Studies. • Marketing. • Stores Management. • Purchasing and supplies management • Journalism Banking and Finance • Accountancy • Computer Science The course duration is two years for diplomas and one year for certificates. Admissions and Enrolment The institute admits S.4 and S.6 leavers as well as university graduates. Study Sessions The institute operates two main sessions of study in the day and evening, to cater for the working class. Facilities The Institute has spacious lecture rooms, a well-stocked computer lab with Internet connection and typewriters. There is also a reference library accessed through a Book Bank system. The institute also provides for extra curricular activities.
