The Mara Simba lodge sits overlooking a dramatic bend on the bank of the Talek, a tributary of the Mara River, gently blending into the surrounding wilderness.

Stretching almost a kilometer along the river the grounds on the bank remain in their virgin condition, while the landscaped gardens filled with indigenous trees at the back draw a great variety of birds and butterflies.

The lodge was conceived with an emphasis on exclusivity and comfort. It was designed to complement its surroundings and is decorated in Masai traditional style. Wide, well-lit pathways connect the Public areas and rooms.

The meals are taken in a nicely decorated and well laid out dining room and are on a buffet basis. The choice is excellent when you consider that a lot of the content would no doubt have to be sourced in from elsewhere.

Mara Simba is a wonderful lodge in a wonderful place. Our room was large, well appointed, very comfortable bed with a balcony overlooking a river where giant crocodiles swam and on the other side of the river baboons ran around like, well, baboons.

Our room was spacious three single beds, really clean, fab bathroom with spotlights and fantastic water pressure! All rooms look like they have fantastic views over a creek and we had a fab veranda.

Mara Simba was conceived not just as an overnight stop but also as a safari resort, as the ultimate lodge in the Masai Mara. The emphasis is on comfort, the ambiance is the Maasai, and the decor incorporating ethnic design elements from the culture of the proud tribe in whose realm the lodge is set.

It is estimated that over two million animals take part in the journey. When planning for a holiday it is recommended that you set aside 3-5 days in order to fully appreciate your stay at the Mara.
