The University has three campuses: one in Kampala, and two at Ndejje Hill, Luwero District, in the countryside 42 kilometers north of Kampala. Ndejje University in Uganda pioneered the private university education in Uganda and is currently among the leading privately run Universities, licensed by the Ministry of Education and Sports. The University offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs that are fully recognized nationally and internationally. This is facilitated through modest class enrolment, maintaining high ethical standards in the University community. The University began humbly with demand-driven courses in Education and Business Education disciplines offered on full-time basis. However, in the bid to accommodate the growing demands of the working class, the University recently introduced a Flexible Learning System by including evening, weekend and the In-Service (school holiday) programs to enable the working class to acquire university education without having either to resign or take study leave. Ndejje University in Uganda has three campuses: The Kampala Campus in the urban setting, at Plot 151, Balintuma Road, just below Mengo Hospital, Kampala. It is ideal for the working class in and around Kampala. The second and third Campuses (The Main and Lady Irene) are located on 200 acres (0.81 km2) of land, in a rural setting at Ndejje Hill, Luweero District. This is 42 kilometers (26 miles) north of Kampala - ideal for quiet and serious study activities. Ownership The University is owned by the church of Uganda. It is however open to all interested students irrespective of creed, tribe or nationality. Mission To enhance the commitment of people to Christ through higher scholarship, research and preparation of learners for appropriate service to God and mankind. This is a unique programme only awarded by Ndejje University Postgraduate Programmes • Master of Business Administration. (MBA) • Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration (PGDBA) • Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) Undergraduate Diplomas Diploma in: • Primary Education (targets grade three teachers) • Secondary Education • Guidance and Counseling • Business Administration • Computer Science • Education Institutions Management There are also certificate programmes on offer. Entry Requirements for Postgraduate Programmes An honours degree from a recognized university for the MBA, and two years working experience for the Post Graduate diploma. Undergraduate Programmes Two principal passes at A-Level or a diploma from a recognized institution for degree courses. Two principal passes at A-Level or a certificate for diploma courses are the requirements. Programme Duration A minimum of two years for Masters degree programmes and three years for under graduate degree programmes. Two years for ordinary diplomas, one year for postgraduate diplomas. Laboratories The university has one science lab, a computer lab, Internet café, and a computer room with 120 computers. Accommodation at Ndejje University in Uganda The university has double room hostels at both the main and Kampala campuses. The cost of accommodation is sh.300, 000 per semester. For in-service programs, students pay sh70, 000 per session. The campus is connected to the power grid and has a standby generator. Recreational facilities Two football/athletics pitches, and a netball pitch, basketball, volleyball and tennis courts as well as a rugby field are available. There are specific times for sports in the university activities. A students’ center is under construction while a swimming pool is in the pipeline.
