Ngulia Lodge Hotel Tsavo West National Park After leaving Tsavo East our journey continued to Tsavo West to Ngulia Lodge Hotel Tsavo West National. We arrived at Ngulia Safari Lodge at Lunchtime. The Lodge is set in on a Hill and over looks the famous Rhino Reserve which is the largest in the world. The views are wonderful.
We checked into our Room which was pretty basic and a big difference from the previous lodge we stayed at the night before. In saying that we had all we wanted for one night and it was clean. When we went out on to the balcony we were facing a man made frame where the Staff hang fresh meat each night and the Leopards come to feed. This really was a fantastic sight to see as we watched Leopard's feeding.
Ngulia Safari lodge is situated spectacularly on the edge of Ndawe Escarpment, offering a vast panorama of Tsavo's sweeping plains. Ngulia is an ideal base from which to explore Tsavo West. All of the Big Five: elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo and rhino - can be found here. A spectacular backdrop to the abundant wildlife is the snow covered dome of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak on the entire African continent.
When in the heat of the day the animals disappear, guests can swim in the lodge's pool or take a drive to the oasis of Mzima Springs. At Ngulia Safari Lodge, a special viewing facility allows the observer to view hippo wallowing with surprising grace from below the water line. Ngulia Lodge Hotel Tsavo West National has fifty two rooms, all with a bath and shower and a balcony facing the vast wilderness; a swimming pool, a strategically located restaurant, two bars and a viewing bay for the wildlife; it is built in a more lush sectorof Tsavo to blend with the natural surrounding flora. The lodge is renown as a haven for bird lovers who come every year between October and December to watch migrating birds escaping the harsh winter conditions of the northern hemisphere.
