Sarova Mara Camp Hotel in Masai Mara

Travel Business

SBI!

I am not one for camping, but the tented accommodation at Sarova Mara Camp Hotel was a luxury I would take time and again if afforded. In tent facilities included, electric kettle with tea and coffee, bottles of drinking water, beds turned and hot water bottle slipped in bed at night etc. Lights go off at midnight...candles and torch provided.

The food i.e. breakfast, lunch and dinner is exceptional. All the staff throughout the resort is very friendly, polite and helpful.

Firstly once again we were very lucky to get an upgrade to the Club Tents....Wow what can I say, they are simply wonderful, from the setting on the other side of the camps lake approached by a bridge to the fact that you cannot see your neighbour as each tent is set in its' own wooded area.

These 'Tents' do not have a zip up front they have a full wooden door with latch, inside you have an enormous bed, a writing bureau, a dressing area a double vanity sink, a safe, a fridge,an enormous shower and more....Click here fo more information about Accommodation at Sarova Mara Camp Hotel Hotel in Kenya

Game Reserve: Fantastic we saw 4 out of the big 5 , may i add it was amazing seeing the lions, leopards, cheetahs etc etc roaming free at their own will, oh yes make sure your camera is fully charged, as you will be taking plenty of pics.

Recommendations / Tips: Try and go Aug/Sept time as this is when it is the Wilder Beast migration (a once in a life time experience) may be a bit more expensive, but you will only probably see this once in your life time.

The true theme of a wild Masai safari is continued when you walk through the lobby of this hotel. A wooden bridge over a small brook and you are confronted by a large wooden statue dressed up in traditional Masai garb. Your host greets you with a beverage and check-in is sorted out in 5 minutes. Very efficient!

Your porter is very helpful if giving details about the property. He even showed me where the elephants sometimes come to water just behind my tent. The property is spread throughout a spacious green area.

Trees and shrubs shadow over every tent to ensure that the dominant colour you see is green. You may even see some fawn running around the hotel. There’s a small pool, a kiddies pool and a spa surrounded by several deckchairs. A table tennis table is also close by.

The tent is not the typical tent you would expect. Whilst you are staying in a tent, the tent is set up underneath a wooden structure. The bathroom is in a stone housing attached to your tent. Your tent also comes with wooden floors and a stone headboard at the end of your bed.

There is ample lighting inside your tent, courtesy of 2 ceiling lights and bedside lamps. You can store any valuables you have in a large wooden chest by the door. You provide the padlock. Wardrobe space is not an issue, as you have the same space you would expect from a standard hotel room.

It is probably worth mentioning that the generators are turned off at midnight, so don’t expect to be able to charge anything during the night. This is also when the torch comes in handy for when you need to use the bathroom in the middle of the night.

The single restaurant they have on the premises serves up some surprisingly decent buffets. All meals are buffet style. The menu is quite diverse, with western, African and Indian cuisine on offer. There is always a chef available to cook up fresh meals, which varies from meal to meal. So keep your eyes peeled to see what’s on offer at the time. The hotel also has a bar and a business centre for all your needs. Hope this can help you to plan your vacation at Sarova Mara Camp Hotel in Masa Mara National Park in Kenya
