We stayed at Serena Hotel Mountain Village Arusha for one night before embarking on a safari. It was a lovely place (an old coffee plantation supposedly) and a great place to relax after a long trip to Tanzania.

The main hotel feels like an old colonial plantation house set in lush tropical gardens filled with Banana, Papaya and Sausage Trees! The service from staff was exceptional and the food was faultless.

The rooms were spacious thatched huts, complete with Mosquito net around the bed and a lovely touch of fresh cut roses in the bathroom.

The huts are within the grounds overlooking the beautiful gardens, a lake and an abundance of birdlife. On a clear evening you can see Mount Meru.
