We were taken to the comfort room that we had booked and really appreciated that Severin Sea Lodge Mombasa has a true African look and decor to it with all the model. Bathrooms are very well maintained and we had beautiful Lamu style furniture and beds but with modern air conditioning to keep us cool.
Mombasa is the second largest city of Kenya and famous for its Portuguese built Fort Jesus, guarding the Old Port and Old Town. The hotel is nestled under palm trees with plenty of space to relax.
For the last 35 years Severin Sea Lodge has been renowned for it’s hospitality to its regular guests, who enjoy the excellent cuisine and the friendly and considerate service. The hotel was awarded by the TÜV Rhineland in Germany, an internationally well-known certification company, for its first class service.
Having two pools to choose from was fantastic as one was definately quieter than the other. We arrived to blazing heat and ice cold towels to freshen ourselves with.
We were allocated the room we asked for, and think it was the best room there, as it was a prime location for the monkeys who came to visit us early morning and late afternoon. Very entertaining!! The food was excellent and we were surprised to discover that premium drinks were included.
The location of the hotel makes it great for sitting and sunbathing by the pool, relaxing at the bar or strolling along the beach,
Severin Sea Lodge, a dream hotel where the white sandy Bamburi Beach is lapped by Indian Ocean, and the cool sea breezes and the equator sun give pleasant warm temperatures all year round. The hotel has a friendly and comfortable atmosphere, and is set amongst lush tropical gardens giving you peace and tranquility and making your beach holiday an exceptional experience.
In summary I would recommend the Severin Lodge for a week’s relaxation - I would only go for two weeks if it involved time away on safari.
