We stayed at Tijara Beach Hotel Mombasa for five nights following a busy safari and wish we could have stayed longer. It is situated along a beautiful stretch of coast and unlike other hotels in the area does not have any neighbours. This made us feel like we had really escaped to our own piece of paradise.

The four cottages each have amazing, unimpeded views of the sea and are spread across the perfectly kept gardens which are packed full of flowers and birds.

Our cottage had a large veranda (with an array of different furniture to suit any mood), large bathroom (with his and her showers, a massive tub and shutter doors which open up to views of the sea), and a beautifully decorated bedroom with a vast four poster bed.

The staff at Tijara Beach Hotel Mombasa were faultless, anticipating our needs whilst not being intrusive. Ian, the owner, and his assistant Debbie also made sure we had everything we could possibly want, including taking us on tours of the magical caves which are just walking distance from the hotel.

Every meal served at the outdoor restaurant was fresh and delicious and was enhanced by the spectacular view of the Indian Ocean. Alfonso's Pina Coladas were the best we've ever had!

Above all Tijara Beach Hotel Mombasa gave us a beautiful environment, top service and food whilst managing to maintain an informal atmosphere that in other places could have quite easily given way to burdensome formality.

Tijara Beach Mombasa is a place where you would wish to stay forever and ever - alone or with your partner... The place people could hardly leave and when they do it is with tears in their eyes...

The place of peace and tranquility which is absolutely priceless in our busy world... where the scent of flowers is delicate, where you fall asleep while listening to the ocean and wake up listening to the birds singing and watch the sunrise from your bed...

The Tijara Beach Hotel Mombasa has only 4 cottages - each of them is very private, extremely beautiful with wonderful views of the ocean with spacious room and ocean vistas from your room, your private deck and your bathroom.

It is a romantic heaven for those in love, a fantastic holiday place for the families or a peaceful retreat for those wanting to be alone! The hotel owners Ian and Larissa create an amazing atmosphere where you don't feel a hotel guest but a member of a family loved and cared for.

The service and food are of very high standards and meet all the guests' expectations.
