Got invited to White Sands Resort and Hotel Dar Es Salaam as guest speaker for an international tourism conference. Must say I was very impressed with standard of venue, excellent conference centre, well equipped, very nice hotel rooms (I was lucky and got allocated a suite with a wonderful view).

Hotel was clean, lots of space and well kept gardens. Staff helpful, service was good food, nice with a good variety of local and international cuisine with some fresh seafood thrown in

I ended up extending my stay after I finished up my bit at the conference, it was a good choice and really enjoyed the 4 days of rest.

The manager told us the rooms we were staying had just been completed. These rooms were nicely decorated, nice size and very comfortable with a balcony overlooking the beach and the islands. All the extras you needed were there too mini bar, safe , coffee and tea, plus bottled water.

Food was very good mix of local as well as international , with different themed buffets in the evening. We had an excellent seafood buffet one evening set up outside right next to the beach, loads of fresh fish and seafood, delicious. Service was always good and waiter s were reasonably friendly.

The pool was also well maintained and clean. It is a nice size pool and with the Indian Ocean a few feet away, it provides a good choice for swimming.

Overall, this was a very enjoyable experience. It was quiet, relaxing with good access to Dar city centre and the Msasani Peninsula for those wanting more active evenings.
