Uganda lies along the East African plateau, it’s a land-locked country but “Gifted by Nature” as per the 1908 description by Sir Winston Church Hill. Its unique scenery/landscapes, incredible wildlife, birdlife, and culture along with welcoming people really portray it as truly the “Pearl of Africa” hence this has made Uganda so popular joined of the countries with great African safari tours.

Beautiful Uganda
Uganda’s scenery is different because it comprises lush rolling hills, forests, waterfalls, lakes, snowcapped mountains, rivers like the Nile River, and vast tracks of the Savannah grasslands(National Parks). Visiting these landscapes introduces you to a spread of attractions found within.

Uganda Lakes & Rivers
The country consists of a variety of lakes including Africa’s largest Lake which is a lake, this same lake is the source of the River Nile. It’s shared by three countries; Uganda, Tanzania, and Kenya. It hosts various islands like the Ssese islands, Bugala island, and Ngamba island (home to orphaned chimpanzees) among others. There also are a variety of wetlands which are great paradises for birds.

Lake Edward and Lake George located in western Uganda form the Kazinga channel, it’s home to a variety of animals like crocodiles, hippos, elephants, and buffaloes among others, some usually spotted along the banks. The Kazinga Channel could be a great attraction to visitors who usually cruise together with it in boats to work out these animals and revel in bird watching. Other lakes include; Lake Bunyonyi, LakeKyoga, Lake Albert, and Lake Katwe among others.

The River Nile is one every of the world’s longest Rivers flowing northwards and it pours its mass waters into the Mediterranean Sea, it is easily spotted within the Jinja district. because the Nile flows it creates a variety of drainage features including various swamps. Ever since its discovery by the first explorers, River Nile has been a good source of Ugandan Safaris, visitors can enjoy a ship cruise, and froth rafting along the Nile.

Uganda Mountains
It’s one of the foremost attractive alpine areas in Africa due to its waterfalls, glaciers, and lakes. It offers visitors a chance to hike to its top through the unspoiled landscape covered with various vegetation types.

The Kigezi highlands are eye-catching covered with terraces and forests. Other mountains like Mount Elgon located in Eastern Uganda, Mount Gahinga, and Mount Muhabura among others also host diverse attractions for Uganda.

Forests
The country is additionally a blessed variety of forest covers located in several regions, they harbor different and unique species. Forests like Kibale forest and Budongo forests reserve offer great opportunities to interact in chimpanzee tracking. Elgon and Mt. Rwenzori National Parks.

Queen Elizabeth Park is the country’s most visited park with beautiful scenery. It’s covered with lush savannah where over 600 bird species and different wildlife species are seen like elephants, waterbucks, buffaloes, antelopes, climbing lions, and chimpanzees among others. it’s also divided by the Kazinga channel where visitors enjoy a ship cruise.

A visit to Murchison Falls Park is unforgettable as you may enjoy game drives, hikes, launch cruises, and sport fishing in Uganda’s oldest and most scenic park. The park is home to magnificent falls, which give way to a very gorge before the Nile proceeds with its journey to the North. Watching these falls either at the underside or at the highest after the hike are some things you’d not want to miss out on.

With some mentioned scenic landscapes above, Uganda still has more to relinquish including a variety of gorgeous waterfalls like Sipi Falls found in Kapchorwa district in Eastern Uganda and also the Ssezibwa Falls among other sceneries.
