Uganda Shopping offers plenty of options to find good bargains. The number of shops in Uganda and a Kampala in particular has heavily increased since the 90-ies, big shopping malls; new fashion shops appeared on every corner of the city. 
Ugandan shops had poor choice and often shortage of certain goods before the coming of the current government, so people were hungry for shopping when the new political system and economy broadened product choice. If you love charming, small shopswith unique products, instead of the faceless shopping centres you'll find some in Uganda too. It's good to have some information where and what to buy to make your Uganda Shopping a rewarding experience. 
Uganda Shopping-Opening HoursFoodstores are open from 6.00 or 7.00 to 18.00, 19.00, Monday to Friday, on Saturdays from 6.00 or 7.00 to 13.00 Other Ugandan shops are open Monday to Friday from 10.00 to 18.00, on Saturdays from 10.00 to 13.00. The large supermarkets have longer opening hours and are open on Sunday. In the town centre, mainly in Kabalagara and Kibuye , you'll find several non-stop, 24-hour shops. They sell cigarettes, alcohol, soft drinks and snacks, and other foodstuffs, usually at lower price. Large shops accept credit cards, especially in the touristy part of the town, big supermarkets and safari lodges. In small shops and markets you have to pay in cash, so make sure you have enough Ugandan shilling in your purse. Ugandan Specialties There are many Ugandan specialties from food stuff to porcelain. When I stroll in Kampala city center I see that tourists love Ugandan art and crafts Souvenirs very much. These are handmade crafts that are very characteristic of Ugandan culture. The most popular art products are: • embroidered cloths, • dresses, • pottery, • porcelain. These souvenirs decorate your home and will always remind you of your stay in the Uganda.In Dewinton road and near the Uganda national theatre in central Kampala, you will definitely find vendors who sell these products. You also find arts shops in every safari lodge shop and along the main roads in the whole of Uganda.Apart from Safari lodges, products found on the main road are always cheap. If you love modern, flashy shops Kampala Shopping Malls are for you. You can buy all sorts of things from clothes to food products. The good thing is that if you get tired or hungry, there are a couple of cafés and fast food restaurants to sit in.
